Application Support Specialist (full-time)

The College of Westchester, an Associate degree- and Baccalaureate degree-granting college, is seeking a full-time Application Support Specialist.

GENERAL STATEMENT:

The Application Support Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide support to end users in the organization about how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively in fulfilling business objectives. This includes troubleshooting applications and software for all internal customers. The Application Support Specialist is also responsible for assisting in the design, development, and improvement of in-house software applications/integrations as well as level II support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree, in related studies, or the equivalent in applied experience in related positions, and 6 years of experience in business applications support and custom applications development and integration. Experience in higher education strongly preferred.
  • Experience administering and supporting Anthology Student in a higher education institution.
  • A high level of experience and familiarity with student information systems, customer relationship management systems, system integration and automation, application support, custom applications development and maintenance, business process analysis, and project management.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell, API integrations, RDMS, Data Pipelines, Azure, and Linux.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing, highly dependable and resourceful, self-motivated and detail oriented, and consistently meet goals while working independently.

Salary Range for Full-time position: $50,000 - $70,000 per year

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support for business application systems including, but not limited to Anthology Student and Verity IQ, as well as level II support for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Zoom as needed.
  • Documents efforts to resolve the issues in the knowledge base system with a focus on process improvement and automation.
  • Develop efficient program code that meets design specifications, as well as define test conditions, plans, and conduct testing accordingly.
  • Assist in gathering and writing technical requirements and design specifications, as well as producing documentation for new and existing systems.
  • Assist in training services for faculty and staff pertaining to productive use of software products and systems as required.
  • Provide required cross-training of critical services identified in the CW Systems - Applications and Roles grid.
  • Attend higher education technology seminars to support the latest trends in technology for CW students, faculty, and staff.
  • Work towards demonstrating responsibilities in line with the next level up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
